‘Calm Down Guys’: Rohit Sharma's Cheeky Response After Fans Heckle Indian Skipper With Mitchell Starc Chants - WATCH

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma was his calmest self even after being heckled by fans in the United States. Rohit has been quite busy recently after leading the Men in Blue to their second-ever T20 World Cup crown.

During an event in Dallas, Texas, the Indian captain was hurled with ‘Mitchell Starc’ chants as he was trying to speak. The event host even tried to ease off the crowd and said, “One second. One second. Guys. Be respectful, please.”

The skipper then reacted to the chants in the most Rohit-like fashion as he politely said, “Cam down, guys.” The clip of this hilarious sequence was shared by a fan on X.

The ‘Mitchell Starc’ chants from the fans referred to the recent beatdown the Aussie suffered at the hands of Rohit Sharma in the T20 World Cup. In a powerful knock watched across the world, Rohit stepped up for the Men in Blue to finish their Super Eight phase on an undefeated note.

The Aussie pacer conceded 29 runs in a single over of that match. The veteran bowler was smashed for four sixes and one boundary. The victory also proved to be the final nail in Australia’s coffin as they failed to make the knockout phase of the ICC tournament. Rohit was declared the Player of the Match award for a 41-ball 92.

Mitchell Starc even spoke about the knock, on an episode of the Willow Talk podcast. This is what he said as per multiple outlets – “I have played a lot against him. He had a good tournament, especially at the back end. I think he targeted that wind in St Lucia as well. It was the one end that went for a lot more than the other.” Speaking about the over, Starc said, “I think I had five bad balls and he hit them all for six.”

Following the T20 World Cup victory Rohit Sharma retired from the format alongside his compatriots Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja. He hung up his boots as T20I history’s top scorer with 4231 runs in 159 matches. He also currently holds the record for most tons in the format with five. He is the only Indian player to have won the T20 World Cup twice.

Rohit Sharma must now have his eyes set on the ICC Champions Trophy that is scheduled next year. It was recently announced by BCCI that ex-cricketer Gautam Gambhir will succeed Rahul Dravid as the team’s new Head Coach. It remains to be seen if the Gambhir and Rohit duo could spearhead the Men in Blue towards more success.
