A total of 17 Indian Test cricketers were in action for four teams in the first round matches of the Duleep Trophy 2024, which were played in Bengaluru and Anantapur.

As many as 17 Indian Test cricketers were in action for four teams—India A, India B, India C, and India D—in the first round matches of the Duleep Trophy 2024, which were played at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru and Rural Development Trust Stadium in Anantapur. But apart from Axar Patel and Akash Deep, others failed to impress with their performances in both innings of the match.

The first round matches of Duleep Trophy 2024 were seen as a big opportunity for players to make a case for selection in Team India for the upcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh, which starts on September 19 in Chennai.

Here’s a look at how Indian Test players performed in first-round matches of the Duleep Trophy 2024:

Mayank Agarwal: Mayank was Gill’s opening partner for India A in the match against India B, but the Karnataka batter could only manage to score 36 and 3 runs in two innings.
