Star Pakistani pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi became the father of a baby boy on Saturday (August 24), and he celebrated the special moment of his life by coming up with a beautiful celebration during the ongoing first Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

The 24-year-old left-arm pacer picked up his first wicket of the match on the last ball of the 163rd over by dismissing Hasan Mahmud. After Mohammad Rizwan completed the catch, Shaheen came up with a beautiful celebration, the video of which is now going viral on the internet.

Shaheen, who is leading Pakistan’s pace attack in the ongoing Test against Bangladesh, tied the knot with Ansha Afridi last year. Ansha is the daughter of former Pakistan captain and legendary all-rounder Shahid Afridi.

Shaheen and Ansha have named their son Ali Yar.

The 24-year-old pacer, who is Pakistan’s leading wicket-taker in WTC history, picked up a total of two wickets for 88 runs in the first innings. After dismissing Hasan for an 18-ball duck, he removed Mehidy Hasan Miraz on the first ball of the 167th over of Bangladesh’s first inning.

Before returning to the pavilion, Mehidy scored 77 runs from 179 balls. He added 196 runs for the seventh wicket with Mushfiqur Rahim to help Bangladesh post a total of 565 runs in the first innings and take a lead of 117 runs.

Rahim top-scored for Bangladesh by making 191 runs from 341 balls. During his stay at the crease, the all-time leading run scorer for Bangladesh in Tests hammered 22 fours and one six. He was sent back to the pavilion by pacer Mohammad Ali.

Earlier, Pakistan declared its innings at 448 for six in 113 overs. Wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan top-scored for Pakistan by remaining unbeaten on 171 runs, and vice captain Saud Shakeel hammered 141 runs from 261 balls.

During his 141-run knock, Shakeel became the joint-fastest batter in history to score 1000 runs in Tests for Pakistan. He achieved the feat in his 20th inning of the 11th Test.
