The Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IIT Hyderabad) has announced the opening of applications for its Summer Undergraduate Research Exposure (SURE) Internships. A total of 200 interns will be selected, with 50 seats reserved exclusively for female applicants. IIT Hyderabad shared details of the internship program on its official social media platform, X (formerly Twitter), to notify interested students.

The online applications for the Summer Undergraduate Research Exposure (SURE) Internships at IIT Hyderabad are open from February 16, 2024, to March 10, 2024. The results are expected to be declared on the SRC website by April 15, 2024. The internship is scheduled to take place from May 15 to July 14, 2024.
The eligibility criteria, as outlined on the official website, are as follows:
Only students who are not enrolled at IIT Hyderabad are eligible to apply.
Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:
– First-year MSc students (Maths/Physics/Chemistry/Biology)
– First-year MA students
– 2nd/3rd Year BTech./BDes students (All branches)
– 3rd/4th Year Integrated BTech-MTech programme students
Applicants should rank among the top 20% based on CGPA or percentage score in all previous years of study within their discipline at their college/institution/university. Certification from the Head of the Institute/Principal is required at the time of application.
Applicants must be full-time/regular students at the time of application and throughout the internship.
Applicants should be available to work full-time (minimum of one month) for the internship. Part-time or online internships are not permitted.
The selection process involves an initial screening of applications, followed by interviews conducted online by department/mentor faculty as per the department’s preference.
Selection criteria may include:
– Exceptional academic performance (ranking within the top percentile of the class/university)
– Additional work undertaken by the student alongside regular academic commitments
– Participation or achievements in competitions such as Olympiads or National Talent Search Exams
– Performance in the interview conducted as part of the selection process.
