As the new academic session approaches, the results of many entrance examinations are being released. Recently, the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) published the third admission list for the Joint Admission Test for Masters (IIT JAM) 2024. This test is conducted for admission into master’s science programs at various prestigious institutes.
Candidates who applied for the counselling session and whose names are on the list can check their allotted seats on the official website, jam.iitm.ac.in. According to the admission list, the last date to pay the fee to book the seat is June 23.
In order to download the admission list, students will need their login credentials, such as their email ID, enrollment ID, mobile number, registration number and password. The seat booking fee for the candidates belonging to the general, OBC-NCL and EWS categories is Rs 15,500, while the SC, ST and PwD categories will be required to make a payment of Rs 7,500.
The students whose names have come up in the seat allocation list will have to choose one of the given options:
(a) Accept and Freeze: If the candidates select this option, this means that they will accept this offer and would not like to upgrade to higher preferences in the subsequent rounds.
(b) Accept with Upgrade: If they choose this option, this would mean they accept this offer but would like to upgrade to higher preferences in the subsequent rounds.
(c) Reject and Quit: By choosing this, the applicant rejects the offered seat and would not like to continue in the admission process. The seat offered to the applicant would be cancelled, and the applicant would not be considered in further rounds of the admission process.
The JAM 2024 Examination was conducted on February 11, 2024, for the Seven Test papers. These examinations were taken for subjects like Biotechnology (BT), Chemistry (CY), Economics (EN), Geology (GG), Mathematics (MA), Mathematical Statistics (MS) and Physics (PH). The result of the JAM 2024 examination will give admission to over 3000 seats in 89 postgraduate programmes across 21 IITs for the upcoming academic year 2024-25.
