'Committed' Wenger quashes Arsenal exit reports
Wenger has clarified his comments which suggested that he would review his position at the end of the season.

London: Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has reiterated his commitment to the club and his desire to stay at the Emirates following the Gunners' 2-1 victory over Norwich City.

Speaking after the match at Carrow Road, Wenger clarified comments made in French publication L'Equipe regarding his future in north London. That interview, two weeks back, suggested that he would review his position at the end of the season.

"The only way I would consider my future is if I don't deliver what's expected," he told reporters during the post-match press conference.

"If you love a club and don't deliver, then you have to consider your future. I will always maintain that I am committed to the club and will always respect my contract. Unless I feel I am not good enough, I will stay and that will always be the case."

"I have to honestly rate my performance. Did I take the maximum out of the players? After 15 years, I have many questions, and have to analyse the situation objectively," the Frenchman later told the Daily Telegraph.

Wenger, who has been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain, rubbished rumours of his leaving Arsenal, saying he is committed to the club till the last day of his contract, which expires in 2014.

"I'm completely committed to this club. My commitment to my contract is not in question - I have shown that in the past and will do so again in the future. This is the club of my life."

Wenger said that Arsenal's continued improvement in the last couple of weeks have made him feel increasingly positive, and he dismissed suggestions that a top-four finish would qualify as what is expected at the club this season.

"It is not as simple as saying we must get in the top four - we want to get the maximum from the team," he said.

"I expect to play football that makes the club proud and that makes people come and watch us, and to finish as close as possible to the top of the table."

"I have to wait and see the quality of my work at the end of the season. After the 8-2 (defeat at Old Trafford), I was determined to put things right, more than ever. These thoughts are always in my mind - every manager is like that."
