Indian football continues to find itself in shambles, as recent reports revealed a case of shocking fraud occurring in Uttar Pradesh during the selection process for the upcoming National Women’s Football Championship .
According to reports from Moradabad Jagran and Amar Ujala Moradabad, 10 players from Haryana were chosen for the Uttar Pradesh side using fake Aadhaar cards for the Nationals set to take place from October 10-14.
To add more insult to injury, it was also undersood that one player got selected without even attending the 15-day training camp, and, as per witnesses, some of those selected in the squad couldn’t even kick a football properly.

Many experienced senior players, who were stripped of their right to compete fairly, have come out and called out those in charge for indulging in blatant corruption and fraud.
Those who were cheated by the system accused the selection committee for displaying favoritism, helping those players from Haryana attain the chances that they should have rightfully been awarded.
When asked about the matter, Regional Sports Officer Naresh Chandra Yadav stated that the department had only been involved in providing the necessary facilities and had no sway or say in the selection process.
On the other hand, District Football General Secretary Mohammed Nasir Kamal lambasted all the accusations, stating that the players from other states possessed the necessary NOCs (No Objection Certificates) to represent UP.
