Though Congress is yet to announce its CM face, Telangana Congress president Revanth Reddy, former state unit chief Uttam Reddy and party leader Madhu Yakshi Goud are frontrunners for the top post if the party emerges victorious

With only 15 days to go for the Telangana Assembly elections, the Congress poll campaign is in full swing but the party is yet to reveal officially its chief minister candidate.

However, a Congress leader in Telangana is reportedly claiming that Sonia Gandhi would appoint him the CM if the grand old party wins the Assembly elections.

The Member of Parliament from Telagana’s Bhuvanagiri, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy made the big claim during a poll rally. He is a party candidate from Nalgonda seat, a constituency he has represented earlier.

“Sonia Gandhi is going to give the CM position to me if the party comes to power. There is no one senior to me here,” the Congress leader can be heard saying in Telugu in the purported five-second clip, according to Hindustan Times.

Elections to 119 Assembly seats of Telangana will take place on November 30 and the counting of votes will take place on December 3.
