2 Engineers killed in road mishap

CHENNAI: Two engineers were killed on the spot when the two-wheeler they were riding, rammed into a stationary lorry near Madhavaram on Wednesday.According to police, J Muthu Subramani (27) of Peravallur and Srimathy (25) of Manali, both engineers, were colleagues in a private company at Irungattukottai. On Wednesday, Srimathy alighted from the company bus at Retteri and was waiting for an Metropolitan  Transport Corporation (MTC) bus to reach home. As Srimathy did not get a bus, she called up Muthu Subramani and requested him to drop her home.Muthu Subramani, who took Srimathy on his two-wheeler, failed to notice a container lorry parked on the side of the road at Manjambakkam and rammed the two-wheeler into it.In the impact, both Muthu Subramani and Sumathy were killed on the spot. Madhavaram traffic police registered a case and are investigating.
