THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Central team which visited the state to assess the damage suffered by the state from rains and floods during the south-west monsoon will submit its report to the Centre in a week. The team concluded its three-day visit here on Saturday.Addressing mediapersons here after meeting the Central team members, Revenue Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan said that the state has sought assistance to the tune of Rs 1,693 crore.  Though the actual losses suffered by the state amounted to Rs 2,420 crore, the state was eligible to claim only Rs 1,693 crore under the Calamity Relief Fund norms.The loss incurred due to damage of major roads was Rs 883 crore, urban roads Rs 157 crore and village roads Rs 113 crore. The loss suffered due to damage to agricultural crops was Rs 12.67 crores. A total of 133 people were killed  in rain-related incidents. The seven-member team was headed by Ministry of Home Affairs Joint Secretary R P Nath and  the team had visited 11 districts.  It also held discussion with top officials in the state."The state expects a favourable report from the team,’’ Thiruvanchoor said.
