Accra (Ghana): Ghanaians poured into the streets of their oceanside capital Accra on Saturday, screaming, waving flags and jumping on the bonnets of cars after a stunning World Cup Group E 2-0 win over the Czech Republic.

Roars of "Go Ghana, the African Brazil" rose above the sound of car horns as groups of fans cheered from the back of open trucks driving in procession down Oxford Street, a bustling road in the central Osu area of town.

"We have won what we needed to do. We are going to beat the U.S, about 3-0. We shall go to the finals, not the quarter-finals," said Stephen Adu Asante, an ecstatic T-shirt vendor.

Striker Asamoah Gyan fired Ghana ahead in the second minute of the match before the Black Stars doubled their advantage eight minutes from time through Sulley Muntari and sending cheers echoing across the West African country's capital city.

Ghana's next match is against the United States on Thursday. Italy complete the group.
