Manjot Singh Kohli, a social and human rights activist who recently made headlines for her decision to donate one of her kidneys to her 22-year-old Muslim friend Samreen Akhtar has been denied permission by the Authorisation Committee for organ transplants in Kashmir. Reportedly, her plea was rejected on humanitarian grounds.
