MLAs son held for dowry harassment, out on bail

BANGALORE: Congress MLA of Afzalpur constituency in Gulbarga Malikayya Guttedar’s son Manish Guttedar (35), was arrested by Mahalakshmi Layout police on charges of dowry harassment. Later, Manish was granted bail by a court and was released.Manish runs an industry in Peenya and he is a resident of AGB Layout in Mahalakshmipuram. His wife Deepa had filed a dowry harassment case against him which led to his arrest. The couple, who were in love, had got married in 2006 and have one-and-a-half year old son.According to the police, Deepa had filed a case against Manish alleging him of harassing her for dowry. She had also alleged that Manish had stopped coming home and not taking care of her and the son. Based on the complaint, Manish was arrested on October 28 and was produced before a court, which granted him bail after which he was released.The police are further investigating the case.
