Mumbai: Sachin Tendulkar is in London for a shoulder surgery which is scheduled for Monday. He had left for London on Saturday afternoon.

The Little Master, diagnosed with a posterior labrum tear of the right shoulder during the third cricket Test against England at Mumbai, was accompanied by his doctor wife Anjali.

Experts say that Tendulkar's condition is fairly routine amongst sportspersons who are involved in a lot of 'throwing' action as part of their game.

Tendulkar was playing with a right shoulder cyst for a while and the injury aggravated in last few days.

Indian team's physiotherapist John Gloster said the ace batsman had been experiencing problems in throwing since the Test series against Sri Lanka last December.

Just last year, Tendulkar was at the same hospital for an elbow surgery which put him out of action for 16 weeks. The surgery will be done by Dr Andrew Wallace who operated Tendulkar's elbow last year.

While the 'little master' will miss the seven-match One-Day series against England which begins on March 28, chances are that he could also miss the early part of the tour of West Indies starting on May 18 as it would take at least eight weeks for him to recuperate.
