SBI calls Mahatma Gandhi for pre-exam training
The SBI got foxed by an online form filled up by pranksters.

Ahmedabad: Foxed by an online form allegedly filled up by some pranksters, State Bank of Inida (SBI) has called the Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi to attend its pre-examination training programme.

Authorities of the Sabarmati Ashram here were surprised when they received a letter from SBI's Central Recruitment and Promotional Department of Mumbai in the name of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi.

The bank authorities asked Mahatma Gandhi to remain present for the training camp for bank clerks at A G Teachers Institute of Ahmedabad, organised for scheduled caste and scheduled tribe candidates for a week to prepare them for taking examinations.

"This seems to be the work of some pranksters. Now-a-days it has become a fashion to play pranks on the name of celebrated leaders," said secretary of the Sabarmati Ashram Amrutbhai Modi.

"Or somebody might have done this to check the working of a bank in an attempt to expose them," he said.

The Ashram received the letter last week.

"We have written a letter to the SBI regarding the matter," said Modi. SBI officials said they recieved 25 lakh online applications and had decided not to check them manually at this stage.

"This seems to be a mischief played by some pranksters. If they had filled a form in the name of Lord Krishna or Jesus Christ, the computer would have been accepted it," bank officials added.
