Raj B Shetty is one of the most prominent names in Sandalwood, hailed for his direction and acting. The filmmaker is now set to impress the audience with a feature in a Hindi-language release, reported to be an Anurag Kashyap directorial. Here are all the details of the project.
In a recent interaction, the actor-filmmaker revealed that Anurag Kashyap has been an inspiration to him as a filmmaker. He stated, “I’m taking on this role primarily for Anurag Kashyap, who has been a huge inspiration to me.” According to him, when he chose the path of direction, the “uniqueness” of Anurag’s works. He loved to discuss his films with cinematographer Praveen Shriyan, Raj added.
The actor revealed he expressed his wish to collaborate with the Gangs Of Wasseypur director as a writer, to which he agreed. So, when he was offered the role, he accepted it without any delay. He said, “Collaborating with him is a dream come true, and I’m doing this cameo solely for the filmmaker.” As per the reports, Raj was expected to join the untitled film’s set on Wednesday.
According to IMDB, the film stars an ensemble cast of Bobby Deol, Sanya Malhotra, Saba Azad, Sapna Pabbi and Joju George, who will be making his Bollywood debut. It is being produced by Vishesh Agrawal and Nikhil Dwivedi. Abhishek Banerjee and Sudip Sharma are the writers and the editing is done by Aarti Bajaj.
Raj last appeared in the Mammootty-starrer Turbo, which marked his Malayalam cinema debut. It was made under the direction of Vysakh. The cast also included Anjana Jayaprakash, Shabareesh Varma, Sunil and Kabir Duhan Singh. Mammootty is also the producer of the release, through his Mammootty Kampany banner. Christo Xavier composed the music and the cinematographer is Vishnu Sarma. Shameer Muhammed is the editor. The film was released in May, this year. Some of Raj’s upcoming projects include 45 and another Malayalam project titled Rudhiram. The former is an Arjun Janya-directorial.
