Touted to be a tragic love story, the upcoming Malayalam film titled Mayamma is gearing up for a theatrical release this month. The film will follow the struggles of a young girl and her journey to womanhood.
The titular role is being played by the actress Ankhitha Vinod, who is set to portray the young girl’s journey to becoming a woman. The film is going to release in theatres on June 7.
Mayamma will showcase the journey of a young woman belonging to the community of Pulluvan, who ends up falling in love with a Namboothiri boy. The trailer of the film was released on May 14, on the official YouTube channel of the release’s production house Punartham Arts Digital Pvt Ltd. The 27-second clip showcases some close moments between the leads, as they get to know each other.
According to the description, the movie is a periodical drama, based on true events. It states, “This film is based on a true story- The story reveals the divine love of a Pulluva girl with a Namboothiri boy."
Mayamma is being made under the direction of Ramesh Kumar Koramangalam, who is also its screenplay and story writer and lyricist. The cast of the film includes Viji Thampi, Cherthala Jayan, Krishnaprasad, Poojappura Radhakrishnan, Biju Kalavedi, PJ Radhakrishnan, Jeevan Chakka, Sumesh Sharma, Babu Namboothiri and others.
Mayamma is produced by Deepa N P under the banner of Punartham Arts Digital and Yogeshwara Films. The cinematography is being done by Naveen K while the editors are Anoop S Saaj and Raj. The executive producers of the release are Rajasekharan Nair, Sabarinath, Vishnu, Ganesh Prasad and Gireesh.
The music is being composed by Rajesh Vijay and the vocals will be given by Akhila Anand, Rajesh Vijay, Lakshmi Jayan, Prameela and Priya Rajesh. The choreography is handled by Ramesh. The assistant directors involved are Kuttu Ganesh, Anoop Sharma and Sudheesh Janardhanan.
