American singer-songwriter Usher headlined the Super Bowl LVIII halftime show, entertaining viewers and the audience with his song renditions. According to reports, the I Don’t Mind singer obtained a marriage licence with his longtime partner Jennifer Goicoechea ahead of his performance. His sudden move has been making the headlines recently, with fans speculating that the two might be headed for marriage.
On February 8, Usher and Jennifer Goicoechea got their hands on the marriage licence in Clark County, Nevada, as per the court documents obtained by TMZ. However, since the records show that their marriage certificate has not been filed yet, it indicates that the Grammy winner and his music executive girlfriend have not said “I do” as of now.
In an earlier interaction with People magazine, months before his grand Super Bowl performance, Usher opened up about how Jennifer Goicoechea was his biggest “support system”. “I have an amazing partner, a support system. We have an amazing dynamic between our relationship where I’m able to be passionate still about what I do and have an incredible partner to work through some of the harder times as a young man dealing with children,” he said. Usher continued that he considers himself to be a “happy and very fortunate” man to have not just a partner but an “incredible friend” like Goicoechea in his life. “She’s my best friend and I love her,” the singer added.
