Thalapathy Vijay and Venkat Prabhu’s recently released film, The Greatest of All Time (GOAT) has been creating quite a stir at the box office. The film has already crossed Rs 300 crore gross worldwide. Recently, the makers of the film took to social media to announce that the film has grossed Rs 288 crore in just four days after the release of the film. On Monday, September 9, the film minted yet another Rs 14 crore nett at the domestic box office. GOAT has seen a significant boost in its box office collections after a brief decline last week. The film opened to mixed reviews on September 5. GOAT has now emerged as the highest-grossing Tamil film of 2024 and has already surpassed the collections of Raayan, Maharaja and Indian 2. The film has now set the cash registers ringing, as it marched past Rs 300 crore gross worldwide including the overseas collections.
AGS Entertainment shared a poster on Instagram announcing the film’s achievement. It read, “In just 4 days Rs 288 crores gross”. The caption read, “GOAT for a reason. The Greatest of All Time crossed Rs 288 crores plus gross collection in 4 days.”
GOAT was released on September 5 in the theatres. The espionage spy thriller’s Tamil version saw an occupancy of 43.50 percent in India. In Norway, the film debuted at number 5. It is the 8th film of Thalapathy Vijay which has crossed Rs 100 crore gross in Tamil Nadu in the opening weekend. On Day 1, it earned Rs 29.50 crore in Tamil Nadu. On the following day, it dipped to Rs 21.50 crore. On Day 3, the collections were Rs 27 crore and on Day 4, it was Rs 28 crore.
The film is helmed by Venkat Prabhu and features Thalapathy Vijay in dual roles. The cast also includes Prashanth, Prabhudheva, Ajmal Ameer, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Sneha, Laila, Mohan and Jayaram in pivotal roles. Produced by AGS Entertainment, the film’s music is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, cinematography by Siddhartha Nuni and editing by Venkat Raajen.
