Mahima Chaudhry made her debut in Bollywood with the film Pardes directed by Subhash Ghai and went on to carve a massive fan base. She impressed the audience with her remarkable acting prowess and also made headlines due to her relationship with former Indian Tennis Player Leander Paes. They dated for about 3 years and Mahima reportedly continued to be a pillar of support for the tennis player. She was always seen at the stadium when Paes was playing his match. However, they broke up later, and the Pardes actress cited his affair with the model Rhea Pillai as the reason for it.

In an interview with Miss Malini, Mahima talked more about her past relationship. She said,” He may be a good tennis player, but he didn’t play fair with me. It wasn’t shocking for me when I came to know that he was going around with someone else. His exit had no impact on my life. I became more mature as a person.” Mahima felt that Paes did the same thing with Rhea (Pillai) as well.” Paes was found guilty of committing various acts of domestic violence against Rhea. The court directed the former tennis player to pay her a monthly rent of Rs 50,000 apart from monthly maintenance of Rs 1 lakh if the latter chooses to leave their shared residence.

Mahima then tied the nuptial knot with architect businessman Bobby Mukherji in 2006. However, later in 2011, it was reported that the couple had been living separately due to compatibility issues. She has an 8-year-old daughter Ariana from her marriage.

Work front

On the work front, Mahima will next play the role of Pupur Jayakar in the film Emergency, directed by Kangana Ranaut. As per the reports, cultural activist and writer Pupul Jayakar had a close friendship with the Nehru family. This film will be released at the cinema halls on September 6, 2024. Apart from Kangana, Emergency stars an ensemble star cast of actors Anupam Kher, Milind Soman, Vishak Nair, Shreyas Talpade and others. This film is based on the emergency period in India between 1975 and 1977, announced by Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
