Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is one of the most loved TV shows. The characters of the show too receive much love and admiration. One of the popular characters is the journalist Popatlal, who has been searching for a partner for marriage for the last few years, but has been unable to find one. The plot of the show has many times shown Popatlal getting disappointed upon not finding a suitable partner for himself. While he plays the role of a bachelor on the reel, Shyam Pathak is married in real life and his love story is quite filmy. He is the father of three children, a daughter and two sons. Shyam Pathak is married to a woman named Reshami.

Shyam Pathak and Reshami tied the nuptial knot in 2003. As per reports, the actor met her while studying at the National School of Drama (NSD). Their love story started off back then, The duo then got married. But getting married was not exactly a smooth ride for the couple. According to media reports, Shyam Pathak’s family members were against him marrying Reshami. The actor went against the wishes of his family to marry the love of his life.

Shyam Pathak marked his debut in acting with the Bollywood movie Ghunghat. But, he could not gain much recognition from it. To gain name and fame, he turned to the TV industry and quickly catapulted to immense fame after this. Before he portrayed the role of the beloved Popatlal, he worked in other serials like Jasuben Jayantilaal Joshi Ki Joint Family, Sukh By Chance and Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin.

His luck completely changed and overnight, he became a household name after starring in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah by playing the role of Popatlal. He has been working in the serial for the last 15 years now.
