It’s A Wrap For Aashiq Abu And Anurag Kashyap’s Rifle Club
Rifle Club marks filmmaker Anurag Kashyap’s debut in the Malayalam film industry.

The shoot of Aashiq Abu’s upcoming film, Rifle Club commenced in Mundakayam on March 20. Now, the director has wrapped up the shoot of the film. Rifle Club is headlined by Dileesh Pothan, Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap, Vani Viswanath and Vincy Aloshious. After Maayanadhi, this film will mark the reunion of Aashiq Abu, Syam Pushkaran and Dileesh Nair. Rifle Club marks the debut of Anurag Kashyap in the Malayalam film industry and will see him portray the antagonist in the film. Recently, the makers of the film announced the wrap by dropping a social media post, which sent fans into a frenzy. The caption read, “That’s a wrap! Grateful for an amazing team and unforgettable moments. Rifle Club Movie Hitting theatres soon!”

Naturally, fans flocked to the comment section to shower the post with love and dropped red heart emojis. One user wrote, “Waiting for the film’s release, Aashiq Abu.” While one more wrote, “Can’t wait for Rifle Club. All the best team.”

The film is jointly produced by Aashiq Abu, Vincent Vadakkan, Vishal Vincent and Tony under the banner of OPM Cinemas. The screenplay is by Dileesh Nair, Syam Pushkaran, Sharafu and Suhas. Baby Jean, Senna Hegde, Nathesh Hegde, Navani, Ramzan Muhammad, Unnimaya, Vijayaraghavan, Vishnu Agasthya, Suresh Krishna, Surabhi Lakshmi, Vineeth Kumar and many others are also part of the film.

For Rifle Club, the director is also cranking the camera to take on the cinematographic duties. He had previously filled in the position for Lovely, directed by Dileesh Karunakaran and starred Mathew Thomas in the lead. The makers are targeting to release the film during Onam this year.

Aashiq Abu is a well-known film director, producer, actor, and distributor, who works in Malayalam cinema. He has worked in films like Daddy Cool, Salt N’ Pepper, Idukki Gold, 22 Female Kottayam, Mayaanadhi and Virus. Anurag Kashyap has previously backed Malayalam films like Moothon and Paka. As an actor, he has worked in films like Akira, AK vs AK, Imaikkaa Nodigal, Leo and Maharaja.
