James Corden Admits He Tried Ozempic For Weight Loss: 'It Didn't Really Work'
While Ozempic is said to induce satiety, it is not medically recommended for weight loss.

Ozempic, a known name among Type 2 diabetes drugs, has recently dominated headlines, especially in pop culture. While the drug induces satiety, it is not medically recommended for weight loss. However, the injectable medication has swept Hollywood and beyond, with everyone from Amy Schumer to Elon Musk having admitted to using it for weight loss. Joining in the line is James Corden. The Gavin and Stacey star recently opened up on why he stopped taking the drug after struggling with food addiction for years.

In the recent episode of his podcast, This Life of Mine, the former late-night host told guest Richard Osman, “I tried Ozempic, and it won’t be surprising to you when you look at me now that it didn’t really work. I tried it for a bit, and then what I realized was that I was like, ‘Oh no, nothing about my eating has anything to do with being hungry.”

Ozempic, which is an FDA-approved prescription medication made Corden realise his issues with food went deeper than just being hungry. “None of that was like, ‘Oh, I’m so hungry. It is not that; it’s something else,” he continued.

He went on to explain that he related to TV presenter and author Richard Osman, who has often spoken about his food addiction. “Food addiction is sort of a joke in lots of circles, but alcoholism and drug addiction, we absolutely understand. But the world — the shape of the people in this world — does not make any sense if food addiction does not exist,” Osman added during the conversation.

Speaking about his own struggles, Osman also explained losing weight is not just limited to willpower but a lot more than that. He hoped that more people open up without feeling the same “shame.”

Notably, James Corden isn’t the only one to speak up on the debate around Ozempic. While Kate Winslet advocated against the use of the drug, former X Factor judge Sharon Osbourne once warned of its use, as per reports. Tracy Morgan, during his appearance on The Tonight Show, joked that his appetite actually outweighed the impact of the drug, despite later praising it. “I’ve learned to out-eat Ozempic. I out-ate Ozempic. I’ve gained 40 pounds. I’m like Magic Johnson. I gained 40 pounds,” he told Jimmy Fallon.
