The celebrations were in full swing on COLORS’ ‘Laughter Chefs Unlimited Entertainment’ as the show kicked off its Ganesh Utsav Special with a delicious fusion of Maharashtrian cuisine, laughter, and a dash of Bollywood glamour. The episode began on a divine note with a soulful aarti to Lord Ganesh, beautifully sung by Rahul Vaidya, setting the tone for the festive feast ahead.
The culinary challenge started with the laughter chefs diving into a sizzling competition to craft eight perfect pieces of ‘aalu vadi”, each bursting with flavor and presentation. To raise the stakes, they were tasked with preparing a fiery ‘thecha’ using a traditional ‘silbatta’, relying on just 17 ingredients from the market to balance heat, taste, and aesthetics.
Amidst the lively kitchen chaos, Bollywood star ‘Kangana Ranaut’ graced the show to promote her upcoming film ‘Emergency’. Her presence electrified the atmosphere, especially when she and Ankita Lokhande recreated their iconic dance to ‘Dankila’, adding an extra layer of excitement to the festivities. The fun peaked when Krushna Abhishek humorously pitched his political ambitions, seeking Kangana’s endorsement for a potential political career in Himachal Pradesh.
In the second round of culinary competition, the challenge intensified with the preparation of the classic Maharashtrian sweet, ‘ukdiche modak’. The chefs were asked to create five flawless modaks, each requiring 12 perfect pleats and a rich drizzle of ghee. As the contestants worked on their creations, Kangana mingled with them, tasting their sweet fillings and offering her approval, making the challenge even more thrilling.
The festive spirit reached new heights as Kangana joined the laughter chefs in dancing to ‘London Thumakda’, bringing her infectious energy to the kitchen. With a Maharashtrian feast in full swing, the question remains: who will win the most stars with their culinary skills? And who will emerge victorious in the race to prepare the best festive dishes?
Meanwhile, Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency has been facing issues ahead of its release. The film, which was supposed to hit theatres on September 6, has now been postponed because of not getting certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). On Wednesday, the Bollywood actress took to her X (formerly known as Twitter) account and alleged that CBFC’s decision to withhold Emergency certificate is ‘illegal’.
Kangana Ranaut reacted to Bombay High Court’s order on the delay in clearance of her upcoming film Emergency by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). She shared a post by Live Law and wrote, “High court has blasted censor for illegally withholding the certificate of #emergency.”
Last week, Kangana opened up about Emergency not getting a clearance from CBFC and shared that she will fight for her movie. “It’s getting too late. I hope the film comes on time. Otherwise, I am determined to fight for it. I am determined to even go to court to protect my film. To save my right as an individual. You can’t change history and scare us by threats,” she told IANS.
“We have to show the history. An almost 70-year-old woman was shot 30-35 times in her house… Someone must have killed her. Now you want to show it… Because apparently, you think you can hurt someone. But you have to show the history. So how did she die?” the actress added.
Kangana Ranaut is not just playing the lead in Emergency but is also directing it. Besides Kangana, the film also stars Anupam Kher, Milind Soman, Mahima Chaudhry and Shreyas Talpade among others. While Shreyas Talpade will be seen playing the role of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Anupam Kher will be seen as Jayaprakash Narayan. Late actor Satish Kaushik will also be seen as Former Deputy Prime Minister of India, Jagjivan Ram.
However, the film has been facing boycotts and ban calls. Several Sikh organisations have accused the film of presenting the community in the wrong light. The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) and the Akhal Takht have also demanded an immediate ban on the film, claiming it tries to “character assassinate” Sikhs by creating a narrative against them.
