Maniesh Paul, a well-known Indian actor and television presenter, hosts a popular podcast that draws a large audience by delving into the essence of his guests. In a recent episode of The Maniesh Paul Podcast, the esteemed guest was none other than Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
During their engaging conversation, CM Eknath Shinde expressed his admiration for Anil Kapoor’s character in ‘Nayak.’ When asked about his childhood dreams and whether he aspired to be a Chief Minister or took inspiration from the movie, the CM responded with a reflective statement, “Film film hai, reality reality hai aur kuch bhi nahi (while films may inspire, the reality is reality and nothing else). His journey stemmed from grassroots involvement, both socially and politically. He highlighted his dedication to hard work and focused determination, emphasizing that success comes through diligent effort and commitment to one’s goals,” highlighting the distinction between movies and real-life.
CM Shinde also drew parallels between his hands-on governance style and Anil Kapoor’s character in ‘Nayak,’ commending the proactive approach depicted in the film. Maniesh Paul applauded the Chief Minister’s direct involvement in addressing issues like Mumbai’s waterlogging, which resulted in notable improvements.
Anil Kapoor’s 2001 film Nayak became a huge hit when it was first released. Over the years, the film has amassed a cult following among Anil Kapoor’s fans. Now, the latest report claims that Siddharth Anand is all set to make a sequel of the film with Milan Luthria as the director.
“Nayak 2 will be produced by Siddharth and Mamta Anand under their banner, Marflix Pictures. Much like the original film, this one too is a big-scale commercial entertainer set against the backdrop of politics and will be directed by Milan Luthria. The makers have cracked a plot that organically leads itself towards Nayak sequel and has a strong undercurrent of being a vigilante flick,” a source close to the development told Pinkvilla.
“Siddarth Anand has got back the writer-director Jodi of Milan and Rajat together for Nayak 2 and he is excited to embark on the journey of making a one-of-a-kind vigilante-based action entertainer. All the action sequences aside, Nayak 2 is a dialogue and drama-heavy film and the casting is underway. A top A-Lister is expected to come on board the film,” the source added.
