Mahima Chaudhry made her debut in Pardes co starring Shah Rukh Khan. The romantic drama was loved not only for its storyline but also songs. Right from the song Do Dil Mil Rahe Hai To Yeh Dil Deewana, fans are still in love with it. Well, recently in an interview Mahima opened up on working with superstar Shah Rukh Khan and revealed behind the scene story. She mentioned the whole crew waited 20 days for Shah Rukh Khan.
During a chat with Radio Nasha Official, Mahima revealed about Shah Rukh Khan’s stardom and praised him. “During the initial 15-20 days of Pardes, everyone kept saying he would arrive today or tomorrow, but he didn’t show up. When he finally did, everyone huddled around him, because we were all new, and waited for him to say, ‘Hi’. Once he started a conversation, everyone would listen. He is full of stories,” the actress was quoted saying.
“I would sit and watch his takes to see how he does the scenes, says his lines, performs the dance steps etc to watch and learn,” she added.
Recently, in a conversation with India Today Digital, Mahima Chaudhry had mentioned how her debut was even better than she had dreamt of. She said, “When you’re doing your first film, you imagine all kinds of things but Pardes I must say, was something that I had never dreamed of because my debut was better than even what a dream would have been. There’s something called luck that plays an important part because it’s not like I was the most talented. There were so many people who were more talented than me.”
Released in 1997, Chaudhry played the role of Kusum Ganga in Pardes. The movie revolved around a man who wanted an Indian bride for his NRI son. Things go south when the man realizes the woman shares a deeper bond with his foster son.
On the work front, the actor will be seen in Signature which is set to release on Zee5. She also has Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency, which will soon be released in theatres.
