Days ahead of their grand wedding, Anant Ambani, the youngest son of Reliance Industries Limited Chairman and MD Mukesh Ambani, and Radhika Merchant, the daughter of industrialist Viren Merchant, hosted the Mameru ceremony at the former’s Antilia residence in Mumbai on Wednesday, July 3. While several videos from the ceremony are going viral on social media, new videos show Mukesh Ambani, Anant Ambani and Shloka Mehta meeting guests at their residence.
Mukesh Ambani Poses With Aakash Ambani, Anand Piramal
In one of the videos that surfaced on social media, Mukesh Ambani was seen posing for the paparazzi with his elder son, Aakash Ambani and son-in-law, Anand Piramal. The three were seen posing in beige outfits as they flaunted their smiles for the cameras. Aakash was also seen taking care of his father. Watch the video here:

Shloka Mehta Hugs and Meets Guests At Antilia
Another video showed Aakash Ambani and his wife, Shloka Mehta meeting guests at their residence. They were seen greeting people with folded hands as they also flaunted their million-dollar smile. For the occasion, Shloka sported a heavily embroidered pink and orange lehenga. On the other hand, groom-to-be Anant’s elder brother was also seen ensuring that their guests were comfortable.
Radhika Merchant Looks Prettiest In Traditional Outfit
In another video that surfaced on social media, bride-to-be Radhika Merchant was seen entering the venue. She was seen dressed in a heavily embroidered orange lehenga and looked prettiest as always. She accessorised her look with traditional jhumkas, maang-teeka and neckline. Watch the video here:
Mukesh Ambani’s brother Anil Ambani was also spotted by the paparazzi as he arrived for the ceremony with his wife, Tina Ambani.
What Is a Mameru Ceremony?
Mameru is a Gujarati wedding tradition in which the maternal uncle (mama) of the bride visits her to gift sweets and gifts. Usually, Panetar saree, jewellery, ivory or white chura are given to the bride by her uncle. Besides this, sweets and dry fruits are also packed beautifully in trousseau trays as gifts.
Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant will tie the knot at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai on July 13. Guests have started receiving the ‘Save The Date’ invitation, which is a traditional red and gold card, disclosing some details of the three-day function.
The wedding ceremonies will kick off on July 12. The first ceremony will be the auspicious Shubh Vivah or wedding function. The dress code is Indian traditional. July 13 will be the day of Shubh Aashirwad and the dress code is Indian formal. July 14 will be the Mangal Utsav or the wedding reception and the dress code is Indian chic. All these functions will be held at the Jio World Centre in BKC.
