Rajkummar Rao Calls Ranbir Singh And Ranveer Singh 'Bigger Stars' Despite Not Believing In Stardom
Rajkummar Rao praised Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh. He called them 'bigger stars' who deserve to be where they are.

Rajkummar Rao is currently basking in the success of Vicky Aur Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video. Even before the release of this movie, he was already enjoying the success of Stree 2. Amidst these two back-to-back hits, the actor talked about Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh. He acknowledged that they have bigger star power but he also mentioned that he does not see stardom as a ‘metric’ of success.

In a conversation with Unfiltered by Samdish, Rajkummar Rao spoke highly about Ranveer Singh and Ranbir Kapoor. He called them ‘damn good actors’ and said that they are ‘definitely bigger stars.’ Rao continued how he does not see stardom as a metric for success but he does acknowledge how it plays a role in the industry. He said, “I don’t see stardom as a metric, but I also can’t deny that it exists. When your film Animal is doing Rs 500-600 crore and your next project is Ramayana with Nitesh Tiwari, which is expected to do even more, it makes sense. I also respect them as actors. They deserve where they are. Ranveer especially killed it in Rocky Aur Rani.”

Rao mentioned how he is not chasing stardom at the moment. Explaining what stardom means to him, he added, “Stardom could be about how significant a project is based on your presence. If you’re the face of a Rs 200-crore film, that is one of the measures of stardom, I don’t want to do that in my life right now.”

Stree 2 scripted history at the box office. The Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao starrer earned Rs 596.87 crore domestically and surpassed Animal which earned Rs 553.87 crore. The movie also starred Aparshakti Khurana, Abhishek Banerjee, and Pankaj Tripathi in pivotal roles. The actor’s latest movie, Vicky Aur Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, was released in cinemas over the weekend. The movie has received mixed reviews but it is faring well at the box office when compared to Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina’s Jigra.
