Sanjay Leela Bhansali got his break in Bollywood courtesy Vidhu Vinod Chopra. However, getting into his team wasn’t easy. Bhansali revealed it was thanks to Vidhu’s ex-wife, Renu Chopra that he got the job. Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter India, Bhansali revealed, “My sister worked with Vidhu Vinod Chopra. She approached his ex-wife Renu Chopra, who forced him to take me. Vinod Chopra came and in his characteristic style, he dismissed me. Then he accepted me and I worked with him for 8 years,” he said.

Namrata Shirodkar’s sister Shilpa Shirodkar is participating in Bigg Boss 18. The actress, who was a rage in the early 1990s, is using Bigg Boss as a platform to make her comeback into Bollywood. Shilpa revealed in an interview before entering Bigg Boss 18 that Namrata and Mahesh are excited for her. “(Namrata and Mahesh) are very happy for me. They are very proud of me and they just know that whatever I do, I’ll do it myself. I know I’m going to make them very proud. As a family, we are a very close-knit family. They are very supportive of me,” Shilpa Shirodkar told the Times of India.

Veteran Bollywood actor Mithun Chakraborty received the Dadasaheb Phalke Award at the 70th National Film Awards Ceremony. The prestigious award ceremony took place in Vigyan Bhavan and the honourable President of India, Droupadi Murmu, presented the awards. Mithun walked on stage to receive his award. Amidst the ongoing case between Tollywood actor Akkineni Nagarjuna and Telangana state minister Konda Suresh, the actor appeared in court on Tuesday to record his statement against the minister. He was accompanied by his wife Amala, his son Naga Chaitanya, and others. Appearing before the Nampally court on Tuesday, actor Akkineni Nagarjuna gave his statement to the judge. His statement was recorded as a complainant. After the actor shared his statement, his niece Supriya also shared her statement as a witness.
