SJ Suryah, who is currently busy promoting his upcoming film Saripodhaa Sanivaaram, featuring Nani, revealed in a recent interview the cost of his residence set in Indian 2. The actor revealed that his home set in Indian 2 cost a whopping Rs 8 crores.
The actor also said that similar to the residential set created for his character, there are around 20 other sets throughout the whole film. The film also made immense use of other songs and action sequences.
Director S. Shankar is popularly known for using an extended amount of the film’s budget for his movies. In the norm of his movies, the director has always tended to use a large amount to create awe-filled set pieces and visually enticing frames.
According to prior sources, Indian 2 has a budget of Rs 250 crore. In this movie, each schedule of characters costs Rs. 30 crore. According to this calculation, Shankar has spent a huge range of money on Indian 2.
Earlier, Kamal Haasan shared an update on the film’s budget. The actor explained, “The budget of the film was not only determined by the director and the storyline. COVID-19 decided our budget. Some of the accidents delayed the budget. The tenacity of the producer and the director must be applauded even before the film becomes a hit. It’s very easy to let go if your hand is in pain, you let go. Let me leave this and go to the other one. They did not do that. Not to let go of this child, not to orphan this child was a decision taken by Lyca and Shankar.”
Talking about Indian 2, it featured Kamal Haasan in the lead role and features the sequel story of the actor and director’s previous collaboration, Indian. The film depicts the return of Senapathy, the veteran freedom fighter who turned vigilante to eliminate corruption in India.
Apart from Kamal Haasan, the movie also stars Siddharth, S. J. Suryah, Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Bobby Simha, Vivek, Nedumudi Venu, Kalidas Jayaram, Samuthirakani, Manobala, and Gulshan Grover in other pivotal roles.
SJ Suryah will play the main antagonist in Nani’s next movie, Saripodhaa Sanivaaram.
