Tabu, Anil Kapoor and Pooja Batra starrer Virasat is one of the cult films. Released in 1997, the film is a remake of the Tamil movie Thevar Magan. Well, recently in conversation with Zoom, Tabu recalled her Virasat shoot days and how she prepared for the role of Gehna. The actress essayed the role of a village girl. She said that Priyadarshan wanted her to have oily hair for the role.
Tabu said, “Priyan (Priyadarshan) wanted me to have oily hair and a village look. So, the hairstylist told me to take a little gel and apply it to make it look oily. When I went on set, he said, ‘I asked you to put oil.’ I said, ‘Yeah, a little. Nice shine is coming.’ So he let it go and then came back with a bottle of coconut oil from behind and poured the entire thing onto my head. ‘This is what I mean by having oil in your hair,’ he said. But then it was very easy for me. I didn’t have to do any hairstyling. I used to get ready in five minutes. Long hair, apply oil, braid it, and go to the set.” Virasat also stars Amrish Puri.
Well, Tabu is currently gearing up for her next release Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha with Ajay Devgn. The film is all set to release on July 5 but there is a report coming in that the release has once again postponed. Yes, you are reading right. This is happening for the second time. Bollywood Hungama has mentioned that the makers are planning to release the film in second week of July.
A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Kalki 2898 AD had a strong weekend and is holding very well on the weekdays as well. Hence, it is also expected to perform well in the second weekend. If Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha releases this Friday, it’ll lead to screen-sharing issues and both films will be affected. And the exhibitors, too, would have suffered. Hence, in the larger interest of the trade, Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha has been postponed”
When asked when the mature love story will be released in cinemas, the source replied, “The makers will take a call soon. It’ll mostly come in the second week of July. It is said that the makers are also eyeing August 2.”
Auron Mein Kaha Dum Tha is an epic love story that chronicles the life of Krishna and Vasudha as their fledgling relationship faces a lot of hardship and eventually, they separate as Krishna ends up committing multiple murders and is sentenced to life imprisonment. After 22 years, Krishna is granted pardon and released from jail and his final meeting with Vasudha forms the crux of the movie. Will they end up together? Will their love survive the test of time?
