Aamir Khan is beaming with pride as his son, Junaid Khan, makes a significant mark with his Bollywood debut in the film Maharaj. The young actor has not only garnered praise from critics and fans alike but has also won the admiration of his father for his self-made journey into the industry.

Reflecting on his son’s debut, Aamir Khan, known for his iconic roles in films like Laal Singh Chaddha and PK, recently spoke about Junaid’s performance in Maharaj during an interaction with Instant Bollywood. The seasoned actor expressed his immense relief and gratitude that audiences have appreciated Junaid’s work. He particularly noted that Junaid chose an unconventional story for his debut.

Aamir emphasised that Junaid has always been independent in his pursuits. He revealed that his son secured the role in Maharaj purely through his own efforts, including undergoing screen tests, rather than relying on any industry connections. “Mujhe ye bhot khushi hoti hai ki ye har cheez usne apne khud ke dum pe ki hai,” Aamir remarked, expressing his joy. He also wished his son well, noting that this promising start could pave the way for a fruitful career in the industry.

The reviews for Maharaj further echo Aamir’s sentiments. News18 Showsha praised Junaid’s portrayal of Karsandas Mulji, commending his strong dialogue delivery, charm, and depth. The review highlighted the honesty and hard work visible in Junaid’s performance, declaring him a promising new talent in Bollywood.

Looking ahead, Junaid Khan has a busy schedule with two more projects lined up. One of them is Ek Din, a film featuring Sai Pallavi and produced by Aamir Khan’s production company, which has already completed its shoot in Japan. Additionally, Junaid is set to star in a romantic comedy alongside Khushi Kapoor. While details about the latter film are still under wraps, reports suggest that the shooting has already commenced in Mumbai, with the next phase scheduled to take place in the Delhi NCR region.

Meanwhile, Aamir Khan himself is preparing for his next project, Sitaare Zameen Par, where he will address societal issues related to Down Syndrome, continuing his legacy of impactful cinema.
