South star Suriya has recently stirred the headlines for his much-anticipated upcoming magnum opus Kanguva, directed by Siva. Besides this movie, Suriya also stirred the headlines for yet another reason. He was recently spotted at a party, in which he was interacting with his friends from the industry. Before his arrival, the DJ at the party was playing the background music of his character Rolex from the film Vikram. After watching him interact with his friends, the DJ stopped the music as he didn’t want to not disturb him. The 48-year-old actor didn’t appreciate this gesture and asked him to play the track again. The DJ obliged this request and played the track.

Rolex is one of Suriya’s famous characters from the movie Vikram. Despite having limited screen time, Rolex became one of the highlights of Vikram and added to Suriya’s fan base. Now, there may be a film that will revolve around Rolex only. Vikram’s director Lokesh Kanagaraj had talked about this in an interaction with the prominent journalist Anupama Chopra. According to Lokesh," I may do a film with Rolex. Since it is a universe, we can do all kinds of films based on whichever character we want. So, for the next 10 years, I am settled."

Besides the film on Rolex, Suriya’s followers are also looking forward to seeing him in Kanguva. Ever since he dropped the teaser of the magnum opus, it has taken social media by storm. The thrilling background score, the execution, and the teaser have everything to make viewers go gaga over it. Right from its release, the teaser has had the industry buzzing. The glimpse of Suriya as the Mighty Warrior and Bobby Deol as the villain has piqued the excitement of fans. Apart from this, what makes Kanguva one of the most ambitious films of the year is its budget. The film is touted as one of the big-budget films of the year and the budget for the pan-world film is touted to be more than Rs 350 crore.

Kanguva is currently in the post-production stage. It is planned to be released in the second half of 2024.
