Chunky Panday recently shared a fun anecdote from his shooting days with Salman Khan in South Africa.

Bollywood actor Chunky Panday has showcased his impressive versatility over a career spanning decades. From tickling our funnybones in hilarious roles to portraying a menacing antagonist, the 60-year-old has proved his talent in films like Aankhen, Khatron Ke Khiladi, Qayamat: City Under Threat, and Begum Jaan. Interestingly, he has a funny real-life story too. In an old interview, the actor shared how he once bribed Salman Khan to take him to a store in South Africa.

In an interview with Lehren, Chunky recalled the time when he was in South Africa with Salman Khan shooting for a show. He shared that he took Salman Khan to a particular store, and promised to get him free jeans. “I told Salman, let’s go shopping, I will give you free jeans. So we went shopping at a mall and then gave him free jeans and shoes. And then he got to know that I had taken $50,000 from a shopkeeper to bring Salman there."

Chunky then revealed the backstory. “Shopkeeper did pay $50,000, but he paid $50,000 to sponsorship of the show. He was the sponsor, and the deal was to get Salman to the store."

Earlier While promoting Housefull 4, Akshay Kumar too mentioned about the incident on Kapil Sharma’s show and called Chunky a ‘smart businessman.’ “Once Salman Khan was doing a show with Chunky Panday in South Africa. After the show was conducted smoothly, Chunky told Salman that he was quite happy. Chunky, who was also the organizer of the show, gave an offer that he would take him shopping. “I’ll buy your shirts, pants, and jeans."

Chunky Panday is one of the prominent actors of the 90s era in Hindi cinema. He made his acting debut with the 1987 multi-starrer film Aag Hi Aag. The film received warm responses from the audience. Chunky Panday was credited with a successful lineup of films majorly from 1987 to 1994. He shot to fame with the film Tezaab, starring Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit in the lead roles. He tied the wedding knot with Bhavana Pandey in 1998. The couple has two daughters, Ananya, an actress, and Rysa.
