Director Lakshman Karya’s Maruthi Nagar Subramanyam was released at the cinemas on August 23, 2024. Starring actors Indraja, Rao Ramesh and Ajay in important roles, this film has garnered mixed reviews since its release. Producers Bujji Rayudu Pentyala of the Lokamaatre Cinematics and Mohan Karya of the PBR Cinemas jointly backed this film. Kalyan Nayak scored the film’s music, while MN Bal Reddy was in charge of the cinematography. The narrative begins with Subramanyam (Rao Ramesh) from Maruthi Nagar facing many difficulties in getting a government job. He applies for every job, but gets none. Then he gets married to Kalarani (Indraja) and she secures a government job. Finally, Subramanyam gets a job as a teacher after writing an exam, but he fails to receive that as well due to a court case. He survives on his wife’s earnings, waiting for years in the hope that the court case will be cleared.

Subramanyam’s son Arjun (Ankith Koyya) is a daydreamer. He falls in love with Kanchana (Ramya Pasupuleti). In another twist, Rs 10 lakh will be credited to Subramanyam’s account one day. The film’s director Lakshman Karya has churned out a full-length comedy entertainer with a gripping screenplay. The film manages to hold the audience’s attention with an engaging screenplay. Lakshman Karya has diligently used all the characters to generate fun in the film. The film is laced with emotional scenes as well as showing the hardships of the aspirants who have had to wait for the results of their government jobs for many years. It ends up with an emotional climax.

In addition to the direction, the actors’ performances including Rao Ramesh was the major highlight of Maruthi Nagar Subramanyam. This film explored his comic credentials and entertained the audience. Indraja has impressed in the role of a struggling wife, and Ankith Koyya’s comic timing is good. Ramya Pasupuleti is impressive, while Harsha Vardhan, Annapurnamma and Praveen have also elicited comedy with their roles.
