Aamir Khan's son Junaid's debut film is a one-of-a-kind David vs Goliath Story Maharaj backed by YRF and Netflix.

Aamir Khan’s elder son Junaid will soon be making his Bollywood debut with Yash Raj Films’ Maharaj. Ahead of the release of his debut film, the starkid has also signed his second movie wherein he’ll be seen opposite Sai Pallavi.

While it was earlier reported that the film will be shot in Japan, a source close to the team recently informed Pinkvilla that the movie will also feature the popular Snow Festival Of Sapporo. “The team saw the famous Snow Festival during their recce, which will also feature in the film as it will see the city of Sapporo set in the winters, and the team absolutely loved it. They were so thrilled by the picturesque landscapes and the unique cultural experience.”

The source also revealed that, apart from Sapporo Junaid also visited the City Hall and also met with Mayor Akimoto. “This interaction not only highlighted the warmth and hospitality of the city but also signifies the growing global reach of Bollywood. Never before has a Hindi film been shot in Sapporo, which makes it an exciting proposition to watch on the big screen.”

Following his passion for acting, Junaid Khan made his debut with theatre in August 2017 with director Quasar Thakore Padamsee’s adaptation of Bertolt Brecht’s ‘Mother Courage and Her Children’, a biting satire on the absurdity of war. Since then the actor has been has been following his passion and honing his craft with years of dedicated and impressive work in theatre and is now finally set for his screen debut with YRF’s Maharaj, followed by this untitled love story with Sai Pallavi as per reports.

Junaid Khan’s debut film is a one-of-a-kind David vs Goliath Story Maharaj. The production house YRF recently confirmed the same, while announcing their collaboration with Netflix for the same. Apart from Junaid Khan’s debut with Maharaj, the film will also star Jaideep Ahlawat, Sharvari & Shalini Pandey. The film has been directed by Siddharth P. Malhotra, whose last film Hichki was a global hit.

Inspired by true events, Maharaj, is an incredible David vs Goliath story set in the 1800s, about how a regular man, journalist by profession, takes on a powerful role-model of society, hailed by many as a messiah for the masses. The fearless reporter uncovers a series of incidents that shake the very foundation of society.
