Shah Rukh Khan’s new film, Jawan, has set the box office on fire. The film, directed by Atlee, not only recorded a massive opening day collection but has registered the highest single day collection on Sunday. As per early estimates, Jawan collected Rs 85 Cr and that too only in India. Headlined by SRK, Jawan also stars Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi and Deepika Padukone in a special appearance. In the light of Jawan’s success, Anupam Kher joined the bandwagon of stars to congratulate Shah Rukh Khan.
On Monday, Anupam Kher took to his Instagram handle and shared a picture of himself with Shah Rukh Khan. Dressed in a red ethnic kurta, the Kashmir Files actor struck a pose with King Khan, who flaunted a stylish black and white kurta. Along with the snap, he penned an appreciation post. It read, “My dear Shahrukh ! Just now I have left Amritsar to watch your film “Jawan” with audiences. Enjoyed it. Action, picture scale, your style and performance is very good. I even whistler at one or two places! Loved everyone in the film! Congratulations to the entire team and especially to the writer/director @director.atlee ! Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan and Atlee’s Jawan has taken the box office by storm within a few days of its release. Fans and critics across the country are showering praise on this mega-commercial hit. Recently, Atlee and his team organised a special screening of the film for the Indian Army. The screening was held in Mumbai on Sunday, and the director himself was present for the show. Jawan was released on September 7, and apart from Shah Rukh Khan, the film also stars popular names such as Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupahi.
Jawan is currently dominating the global box office, surpassing the elusive Rs 300 crore milestone in just three days. The film has made Rs 384.69 crore at the global box office. Red Chillies Entertainment, the production company supporting the film, disclosed the film’s India and worldwide gross box office collections on social media. The film focuses on a commando-turned-vigilante who enlists the support of a group of ladies to right society’s wrongs. The movie addresses themes such as government apathy, corruption, farmer suicide, a failing healthcare system, faulty army weapons, and dangerous factories located near civilian areas.
The film includes Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Girija Oak, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, Lehar Khan, Aaliyah Qureshi, Ridhi Dogra, Sunil Grover, and Mukesh Chhabra in supporting roles. Deepika Padukone also makes a special appearance.
Shah Rukh Khan was earlier seen in the blockbuster film Pathaan in January this year. Next, the actor will work on Dunki, helmed by Rajkumar Hirani and starring Taapsee Pannu, Boman Irani, and others.
