Indian youngster Kashvee Gautam was sold to Gujarat Giants for a record 2 Crore Rupees at the WPL 2024 auction on Saturday as she became the most expensive uncapped player at the auction.

After going unsold at the auction last year, Gautam, an all-rounder who impressed with her pinch-hitting and sharp seam bowling finally got her due as she broke the record for the costliest uncapped player at the WPL 2024 auction.

The 20-year-old all-rounder registered a hat-trick in a one-dayer for Chandigarh against Arunachal Pradesh in the women’s domestic U19 competition.

Royal Challengers Bangalore made Indian star batter Smriti Mandha the highest-paid player in the tournament last year as they shelled out a massive 3.4 Crore INR for the south-paw.

Australian Ashleigh Gardner and Englishwoman Natalie Sciver, who were enlisted by Gujarat Giants and Mumbai Indians respectively for 3.2 Crores each rank as the second most expensive signings at the event, followed by Indian all-rounder Deepti Sharma, who was paid 2.6 Crore to join the UP Warriorz last year.

Indian sensation Jemimah Rodrigues stands fourth on the list as Delhi Capitals coughed up 2.2 Crores for the services of the batter, followed by Australian Beth Mooney and attacking Indian opener Shefali Verma, who were signed by Gujarat and Delhi respectively for 2 Crores stand fifth on the list of most expensive buys at the WPL.
