New Delhi: Even as the second phase of polling on Thursday saw low to moderate voting in 140 many spread over 12 states, senior politicians like Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad did not miss an opportunity to woo the Left parties.
"It is too early to say about prime ministerial candidate. The country requires a stable government. I honestly believe that this time also we need the support and blessing of the Left," said Pawar
Lalu Prasad echoed Pawar's words saying that the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) would be able to form the next government.
"UPA will form the government. If we are short of majority then the door is always open for the Left. We are not fighting the Left. The only difference was over the nuclear deal otherwise we have excellent relations. We will sit together and the UPA will be able to form the government," said Lalu.
Eve though the Congress-led UPA is eyeing Left's support to form the next government, Communist Party of India-Marxist General Secretary Prakash Karat differed.
"No government is possible with Congress. They should realise that," said Karat.
