PM hosts lunch for BJP leaders
Manmohan Singh on Tuesday hosted a lunch for top BJP leaders and discussed recent developments in the region.

New Delhi: In an effort to evolve a bipartisan consensus on foreign policy, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Tuesday hosted a lunch for top Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders, including his predecessor Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and discussed recent developments in the region.

External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee "briefed them on the situation in India's neighbourhood and India's relations with Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka", an official release said.

Leader of Opposition LK Advani, former external affairs minister Jaswant Singh and former National Security Adviser Brajesh Mishra also attended the luncheon meeting at the prime minister's 7 Race Course Road official residence.

National Security Adviser M K Narayanan and Foreign Secretary Shivshanker Menon were also present.
