179. Sahara is a state Assembly/Vidhan Sabha constituency in the state of Rajasthan and is part of Bhilwara Lok Sabha/Parliamentary constituency. Sahara falls in Bhilwara district and South region of Rajasthan. It is categorised as a rural seat.
There are a total of 2,36,844 voters in the seat, which includes 1,19,032 male voters, and 1,17,812 female voters. In the 2018 Rajasthan elections, Sahara recorded a voter turnout of 73.2%. In 2013 the turnout was 77.21%, and in 2008 it was 70.7%.
In 2013, Dr Balu Ram Chaudhary of BJP won the seat by a margin of 20,756 votes (12.92%). Dr Balu Ram Chaudhary secured 51.32% of the total votes polled.
INC won this seat in the 2008 Assembly elections with a margin of 13,506 votes (10.66%), registering 47.25% of the total votes polled.
In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, BJP led in the Sahara Assembly segment of the Bhilwara Parliamentary/Lok Sabha constituency.
