'Two CMs Were In Jail But...': Rahul Gandhi Claims Hemant Soren Denied Bail As He is 'Tribal'
While addressing a session titled 'Samvidhan Samman Sammelan' in Haryana's Panchkula Gandhi said: "Two sitting Chief Ministers were arrested and the one who went to jail first is still behind bars, essentially because he is from a tribal community"

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday drew a parallel between Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and former Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren’s arrest and accused the Indian Judiciary of being prejudiced against certain communities.

While addressing a session titled ‘Samvidhan Samman Sammelan’ in Haryana’s Panchkula Gandhi said: “Two sitting Chief Ministers were arrested and the one who went to jail first is still behind bars, essentially because he is from a tribal community.”

“Mayawati is corrupt but not Naveen Patnaik, Lalu Yadav is corrupt… if someone is tribal or Dalit, he is automatically framed,” he added.

The ED arrested former Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren in January this year concerning a money laundering case related to an alleged land scam. He is currently in judicial custody and was not denied interim relief from the courts.

On the other hand, Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal was arrested by the probe agency in March in connection with the Delhi liquor policy case. He was granted interim bail by the Supreme Court until June 1 for Lok Sabha elections in Delhi.

Meanwhile, the BJP slammed Gandhi’s remarks and said he was unhappy with the attention Kejriwal had been getting after being given bail.

“He blames Hemant Soren’s caste for not being granted bail while linking Arvind Kejriwal’s release with him being a UC. He indeed is unhappy as Kejriwal took all his limelight, but this sets a dangerous divide in the minds of the society which might get influenced by Soros’s puppet’s rhetoric,” BJP spokesperson Vinusha Reddy wrote on X.

Rahul Gandhi on System’s Bias Against Tirbals

Gandhi also talked about the system’s bias against the lower castes and claimed that he knew the system from the inside due to his family’s involvement in politics.

“In the prime minister’s house, when my grandmother and later father were PM and later Dr Manmohan Singh, I used to go, so I know the system from inside. And I am saying the system is aligned against lower castes, in a major way (bhayankar tareeke sey) at every level,” he said.

“I have been inside the system since I was born on June 19, 1970. I understand the system from the inside. You cannot hide the system from me,” he added.

He mentioned that the majority of the country’s population, including Dalits, OBCs, tribal communities, and minorities, are not represented in the country’s narrative and power structure

The former Congress President also highlighted the lack of representation of Dalits, tribal people, and OBCs in the media, claiming that there are no senior anchors, influencers, media owners, or managers from these communities.
