AP Govt’s Decision On Guntur Kaaram’s Ticket Price Hike Irks Prabhas Fans
Netizens have begun questioning the government for its partial take and apparent favouritism towards Mahesh Babu.

The state government of Andhra Pradesh reportedly gave their nod for a ticket hike. The admission rates for the much-hyped film Guntur Kaaram have now been fixed at Rs 210 in Andhra Pradesh. The film was released on January 12. In a noteworthy development, the Government of Andhra Pradesh has given its nod for a Rs 50 hike per ticket for this Mahesh Babu-starrer family entertainer, marking a pivotal moment for the film industry. The step taken by the Andhra government has left actor Prabhas fans fuming in anger, stating partiality towards Mahesh Babu’s recently released film. Earlier, team of Prabhas-starrer Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire applied ticket hikes in both Telugu states – Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. While the Telangana government gave the hike and also allowed midnight and special shows, there was no special permission granted by the Andhra Pradesh government to organise special shows. Only a slight hike of Rs 40 was permitted for the ticket hike by them. The producers of Salaar and the Prabhas’ fans expected at least a hike of Rs 50. The government only allowed a Rs 40 hike, despite Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire being a huge-budget film.

Guntur Kaaram has been made on a budget of Rs 140 crore, which is far less than that of Prabhas-starrer film. Despite this, the government stepped in with the decision to increase the fee by Rs 50 in the state. Given the decisions, netizens have begun questioning the government for its partial take on both the films and apparent favouritism towards Mahesh Babu.

Directed by the acclaimed Trivikram Srinivas, Guntur Kaaram features Sreeleela and Meenakshi Chaudhary in prominent female lead roles. The film has been produced under the banner of Haarika and Hassini Creations. The musical brilliance of Thaman S creates an immersive and captivating atmosphere for the audience. Interestingly, the film marks the reunion of Mahesh Babu and director Trivikram Srinivas after their two previous films — Athadu and Khaleja.
