28-year-old Man Considers Divorcing 31-year-old Wife Because 'She Can't Cook'
The man said that his mother came over for dinner one night and as usual, he was the one busy preparing the food.

Nowadays marriage is all about partnership and equality, where both the spouses contribute equally to the household, be it in chores or even financially. A post is going viral online, seemingly posted by a man, complaining about his wife’s lack of cooking skills and how it is affecting their lives badly.

In a lengthy post, shared by user @Plastic_Voice_6229 on the Reddit group AITA, the man details his lifestyle with his wife, revealing the problems he has faced because of her lack of interest in cooking.

According to the post, the 28-year-old man has been married to the 31-year-old woman for a year. Things have been great between them, except for the fact that his wife does not know how to cook, which has started to bother the husband. He added, “I’ve always been the one to handle meals, which I was fine with in the beginning because I enjoy cooking. But over time, it’s started to wear on me, especially when I come home after a long day at work.” He has to fix a meal for both of them, while his wife relaxes. Revealing further, he wrote that she refuses to cook, saying there is nothing wrong with it. He tried to teach her but she is just bad at it.

AITA for agreeing with my mom that it’s kind of pathetic my wife can’t cook byu/Plastic_Voice_6229 inAmItheAsshole

The man said that his mother came over for dinner one night and as usual, he was the one busy preparing the food. The mother then asked if she could help and he let her. So, when she told her daughter-in-law to cut some fruits, the younger woman stood clueless, not even able to hold the knife properly and ended up making a mess. Seeing that, her mother-in-law blurted out, “It’s honestly kind of pathetic that you don’t even know how to cut a piece of fruit at your age.” However, the mother then guided her and taught her like one would do to a kid.

This whole incident made the wife extremely upset, as she believed her husband did not defend her and embarrassed her. He ended the post with, “My wife thinks I am a huge jerk.” Updating the post, he wrote that the whole thing is “weaponised incompetence” and he will try marriage counselling and cooking classes. And if nothing changes, he is out, indicating a separation or a divorce.
