Mark Zuckerberg is moving away from his trademark style and ditching the signature minimalist hoodies and T-shirts. The Meta CEO was seen wearing designer suits accessorised by luxury watches in his recent public appearances. This shift in Zuckerberg’s style became quite obvious when he was invited to participate in the ‘Acquired’ podcast where he proudly paraded his latest love– luxury watches.

The billionaire was spotted wearing a De Bethune DB 25 Starry Varius in the interview. The watch, reportedly worth $260,000 (Rs 2 crore approx), features a dial made from a meteorite with a pattern of the Milky Way galaxy gilded with 24-carat gold leaf. Its strap is made of alligator leather.

“Created from a meteorite, the DB25 Starry Varius Aérolite becomes the witness to this chaotically orchestrated force,” the watchmaker’s website reads.

A week before the Acquired interview, Zuckerberg uploaded an Instagram selfie with his hand across his wife Priscilla Chan’s shoulders.

Watch enthusiasts identified a Patek Philipe watch which retails for $141,400 (Rs 1.18 crore).

Zuckerberg, who was once known for his casual attires, donned clothes from fashion designers Alexander McQueen and Rahul Mishra during Anant Ambani’s pre-wedding celebration in India earlier this year.

Image consultants have pointed out that this overhaul of clothing is not only an ordinary wardrobe change but also an attempt to change how the masses view him.

Talking about his minimalist personal style, Zuckerberg in an interview a decade ago had said “I feel like I’m not doing my job if I spend any of my energy on things that are silly or frivolous about my life, and that way, I can dedicate all my energy to building the best products and services and helping us reach our goal and achieve our mission,” according to the New York Post.

Carol Davidson, a New York-based image consultant, told Business Insider that the collection of fancy watches by Zuckerberg appears to be aligned with “a more effortless and formulaic look to that of a curated, you-never-know-what-he’ll-be-sporting aesthetic.”
