Poster Stuck on Delhi Flyover Signboard Starts Civic Sense Debate: 'No common sense'

A picture of a poster stuck on a flyover signboard in Delhi has been doing the rounds on the Internet and has started a debate on civic sense in India. While many users shared their own experiences of posters being plastered on signboards and important information painted on walls, others remarked that a significant number of people in India display “zero” civic sense.

The poster, which a Redditor claimed is stuck on a flyover signboard in Delhi’s Punjabi Bagh, invited people to participate in the Ramleela and Dussehra celebrations organised by a local committee in Pitampura. It also has the pictures of the organisers, one of whom is a doctor. Additionally, it outlines the various services he provides, such as physiotherapy, chiropractic care, cupping therapy, and dry needling.

Here’s how people reacted to this poster stuck on the signboard:

“Happened to my dad’s car, lol. They put a sticker on the back of it and now we can’t take it off without it ruining the car,” said an individual.

Another added, “Lol. I saw something similar last Sunday here in Varanasi at a sign on the main road. 1/3rd of the names were hidden by it. It was a political party’s advertisement.”

“We have zero civic sense, this is one of the examples. Using roads to organise jargon, loud music and occupying the road during marriage processions, various encroachments, spitting on roads. The list can be long,” expressed a third.

A fourth commented, “They do this with the pillar no’s in Delhi as well. Write pillar numbers and then hide them with posters.”

“Everyone should call these numbers and try to tell what’s wrong with their advertisement placement. ( I did my part) Or any spam with some spam bot service. So that they can get a real taste of their actions. I don’t know this thing so I couldn’t,” suggested a fifth.
