Shoe Shopping With Office Laptop? Peak Bengaluru Moment Shows Woman Multitasking Like a Boss
Bengaluru woman shops for shoes while attending an online meeting, internet says, 'Sad'.

The rise of ‘Work From Home’ policies, especially since the onset of the pandemic, has its share of positives and negatives. While it’s a comfort to work in pajamas from home, this practice has started affecting the work-life balance for many. Work seems to seep into every part of the day, whether it’s during a bathroom break, lunchtime, or even shopping. A recent incident in Bengaluru captured this perfectly when a woman was seen attending a meeting while browsing for shoes in a store.

Describing it as the ultimate ‘Peak Bengaluru’ moment, Karthik Bhaskara shared a picture of the lady selecting shoes with her laptop in hand.  “Today in ⁦@peakbengaluru⁩, I saw a person shoe shopping while attending a team meeting on her laptop,” read the caption.

Predictably, reactions poured in. Some found humour in the situation, while others highlighted the negative impact of such blurred boundaries. One commenter lamented, “These are the kind of people who made companies rescind Work From Home policies. Such a sad state. it creates an impression that people in India have no work ethics.”

Another joked, “Deciding which shoe to throw at organizer of such useless meetings,” while a third remarked, “This shows exactly how toxic the workplace and the managers and founders must be.”

Many echoed sentiments that this was nothing to celebrate. “Lately, Bangalore is shining for all the wrong reasons,” remarked one.

Another criticised the justification of such behavior, stating, “Not sure if this is something to be proud of. And to justify this, some industry leaders will say that there is no such thing as work-life balance!! That one should work for more hours..etc. This needs to stop. It is about humans, not machines.” A third concluded, “Most of #peakbengaluru is dystopian, actually.”
