Watch: The Poignant Moment Ratan Tata Enjoyed With His Dog

Tata Group Chairman Ratan Tata passed away on Wednesday at the age of 86. Tata has been admitted to a Mumbai hospital. His passing has elicited a flood of messages from celebrities as well as the general public. One of the Instagram users posted a video of the late Industrialist in the compound, sitting on the lawn with the dog close to him.

In the video, Tata is seen sitting on his lawn. The video zooms in on the industrialist, who is seen enjoying the fresh outside air. The accompanying caption reads, “Last year, I was just on my regular walk in the city and far away I noticed a man in a blue shirt sitting alone on his lawn with the dog right beside him. It took me a while to register that it was Sir Ratan Tata at 85. I almost cried looking at this visual. That’s Sir #RatanTata for you.”

A user commented saying, “Beautiful capture. Rest in peace, legend.”

The rest of the comments section was poured with heart emojis.

Bollywood A-listers, including Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn, Priyanka Chopra, and Anushka Sharma, mourned the death of the industrialist. A lot of people posted their condolences on social media sites, remembering Tata and the role he played in the country’s development.

Even Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid his respects to the renowned industrialist. Ratan Tata “was a visionary business leader, a compassionate soul and an extraordinary human being,” Prime Minister Modi wrote.

Ratan Naval Tata was born on Dec. 28, 1937, in Bombay, present-day Mumbai, during British rule.

The Tatas made their wealth in the 19th-century opium business with China and in textile mills. By the time Ratan’s father, Naval Tata, climbed up the ladder to become the deputy chairman, the Tata Group had already invested in hundreds of manufacturing and businesses.

Naval Tata married his cousin, Sooni Tata. They separated when Ratan and his younger brother, Jimmy, were young. These boys were both raised and adopted by their affluent grandmother on the father’s side.

Ratan Tata was brought up in a white Baroque revival building in Mumbai named Tata Palace with an army of 50 servants, and he was ferried to school in a Rolls Royce. He was sent to Riverdale Country School in New York City, the United States, for his high school education. He graduated from Cornell University’s architecture programme and Harvard University’s business school’s management program.

Tata joined the family business in 1962 ever since then he worked for the company.
