Wasim Jaffer Takes a Dig at Pakistan With Hilarious Meme After T20 World Cup 2024 Exit

Indian ex-cricketer Wasim Jaffer has taken a cheeky dig at Pakistan’s early exit from the T20 World Cup 2024. The Babar Azam-led side were knocked out of the ICC event after the United States bagged a point against Ireland. Their fixture was abandoned due to rainfall, earning the co-hosts a place in the Super Eight phase of the tournament. Days after Pakistan’s exit Jaffer shared Andre Russell’s iconic Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) interview on X. The ex-cricketer suggested that Pakistan fans must have had a similar reaction after seeing their team crash out of the tournament. In his post, he wrote, “Pak fans to Babar and co right now”.

The said interview takes us back to Duronto Dhaka’s BPL triumph last year. After winning the trophy, Dhaka star Andre Russell was enquired by a Bangladeshi reporter about how he felt about the victory. “Final match you perform, what happening?” he asked the West Indies all-rounder. The video soon broke the internet, becoming a hit amongst cricket fans around the world.

Fans have now reacted to Wasim Jaffer’s hilarious dig on X with a ton of laughing emojis. One of them praised Jaffer’s incredible sense of humour and wrote, “Meme King”.

Another agreed and wrote, “Your sense of humour will never die”.

“Best Memer in cricket circles”, wrote one more.

One suggested that even the Pakistan skipper had no idea about what just occurred. “Even Babar don’t know what’s happening,” he wrote.

Wasim Jaffer isn’t the only one who has quoted this meme in the world of cricket recently. The USA recreated this meme after securing a place in the Super Eight phase of the T20 World Cup. During their locker room celebrations, American pacer Ali Khan could be seen asking the golden question to his teammate Aaron Jones. “First World Cup, you perform what happening?” Ali asked. Jones played along and said, “What you mean?”. USA Cricket shared a video of this hilarious segment on Instagram.

Pakistan conceded back-to-back losses against the USA and India in their first two games of the T20 World Cup. They next beat Canada and Ireland but missed out on the Super Eight spot by a single point. Having played their final match in the tournament yesterday, Pakistan will now be heading home. They are next scheduled to take on Australia in an ODI series in November.
