You Mean So Much...: After Rohit Sharma, Ritika Sajdeh's Post For Rahul Dravid Breaks Internet
Indian captain Rohit Sharma shared a heartfelt note for former India head coach Rahul Dravid on Tuesday after his more than two-year stint came to an end.

Indian men’s cricket team captain Rohit Sharma paid rich tribute to former India head coach Rahul Dravid on Tuesday (July 9) after his stint came to an end. The 37-year-old right-handed batter who made his international debut for India under Dravid’s captaincy during an ODI match against Ireland on June 23, 2007, took to Instagram to share a post for ‘Dear Rahul Bhai’ and said that it’s a privilege for him to call him (Dravid) as his coach and friend.

The star batter, who became the third Indian captain to win an ICC trophy last month, revealed in a heartfelt note that his wife, Ritika Sajdeh, calls Dravid his ‘work wife’.

“Dear Rahul bhai, I have been trying to find the right words to properly express my feelings on this but I’m not sure I ever will so here’s my attempt. Since my childhood days I have looked up to you just like billions of others but I was lucky enough to get to work with you this closely. You are an absolute stalwart of this game but you left all of your accolades and achievements at the door and walked in as our coach and came on a level where we all felt comfortable enough to say just about anything to you. That is your gift, your humility and your love for this game even after all this time. I have learnt so much from you and every memory will be cherished. My wife refers to you as my work wife and I’m lucky to get to call you that too. This was the only thing missing from your arsenal and I’m so happy that we got to achieve it together. Rahul bhai it has been an absolute privilege to get to call you my confidant, my coach and my friend,” Rohit’s Instagram post read.

Hours after Rohit’s post for Dravid went viral on the internet, Ritika took note of it and shared it on her Instagram story with a special message for Dravid. She opened up about the close bond shared by Sharma’s with Dravid and said the 51-year-old will be missed so much.

“So many emotions! You mean so much to our entire family. You will be missed so so much. I think Sammy will miss you most of all.”

Dravid took charge of the Indian team as head coach in November 2021, and his last match was on June 29, 2024. In his final match, India defeated South Africa by seven runs to win the T20 World Cup 2024 title.
